Stop Politicizing Security Killings  In Plateau State  –Wase  Media Team Tells  Opposition

Yakubu Busari

The Wase Local Government Council Media Team , has urged the opposition party  to stop politicising the prevailing security challenges bedeviling parts of Plateau State .

The spokesperson of Wase Media Team ,Sadisu Ibrahim Jaji  , made the call while reacting on the Statement credited to one Comrade Adam Usman over the recent attacks in Kanam and Wase LGAs.

“You would recall that ,Comrade Adam Usman wrote an open letter to Governor Caleb Mutfwang with “Unholy Attempt to Politicise Security Challenges”, linking it to visit with religious sentiment attached “.

Sadisu Ibrahim Jaji said that Governor Caleb Mutfwang had continued to provide the needed support to the good people of Wase and Kanam  to ensure that   security agencies tackle the issue of  bandits and  to also deliver on his mandates.

According to him,Usman  alleged that government  had decided to politicise the security challenges, that the swift reaction of Governor Caleb Mutfwang to the Riyom massacre was linked to their faith , adding that the Governor would want the crisis to end  and not to  go out of hand.

“Just recently, when 27 farmers  were killed and houses burnt , Mutfwang  condemned the killings, and demanded probe including that of alleged vigilantes in kukawa and Nyalun .

He refuted the allegation of killings 70 vigilantes personnel which is not true and unfounded  in the two Councils that ,”no body was killed in Wase and Kanam LGAs except the 7  bandits who  invaded Kukawa and Bunyun communities looting their shops were those that met their untimely dead .

Jaji revealed that the criminals who looted shops in Kukawa were the only ones that were killed as a result of exchange of gunfire with the local security .

He maintained that the state government in collaboration with the local government’s have deployed security agencies across the length and breath of Kanam and  Wase LGAs to curb the activities of the menace terrorizing the areas .

He commended the developmental stride of Governor Caleb Mutfwang resilience and commitment to the security of lives and properties of the people in Plateau State.

“Fast-forward to the massacre of 60 Plateau villagers, the same governor  immediately faulted  by paying condolence to the families and Kaduna state  government over dastardly act .

“Another attempt to politicise the killings in Wase, Kanam LGAs,

“Rather than appreciating God and the government for the rescue, some have decided to give a different narrative aimed at portraying the government as a failure”,he said.

“He pointed out that some set of politicians have refused to see anything good in the present administration, hence they will turn their face from the several laudable efforts of our amiable governor of the” Time is Now” .

Jaji urged politicians to stop demoralising the administration of Mutfwang  who is  making a lot of sacrifices to keep the state safe.

According to him, some of them would rather see the state in flames so they can have an avenue to attack the administration.

He called on politicians to show statesmanship in their approach and support security agencies  to defeat the enemies of the state by standing with the government.

According to him, terrorists, bandits and other criminals are not only operating  in Wase and Kanam LGAs so we should avoid using religious  while making comments on killings .

“We use this opportunity to advise especially our youths to shun all negative vices and this set of politicians who have their children abroad but would always want to use innocent youths at home to foment trouble.

The alleged killing of 70 people was not true, 20 criminals were killed and as it is today none of this villages from Wase and Kanam were burned .
