Senator Onawo Doles Out N10, 000,000 M To 100 Constituents As Start-Up Pack

The Senior Legislative Aide (SLA) to the incumbent Senator representing Nasarawa South Senatorial district of Nasarawa State, Dr. Ayuba Akwe, who represented the Senator representing Nasarawa South Senatorial district, has admonished constituents to think outside the box by being creative.

 

Appealing to them not to use the N100,000 given to them to add another wife instead of investing it judiciously as a start-up grant.

 

He explained that the essence of the training workshop was to encourage the beneficiaries to perform art.

 

Dr. Sam  Agbi JP, a facilitator, averred that what Senator Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo is doing is empowerment, that is, supporting constituents.

 

“What the Senator is doing is to ensure that people make money from perfuming art”.

 

“Given an instance of the rich culture of Nasarawa State, He, however, called for the need to commercialize the rich culture of Nasarawa State.

 

Dr. Sam called on the Nasarawa State Government to, as a matter of importance, establish a festival village in the State, just like in Delta State, stating that it is a source of revenue generation for Delta State.

 

Dr. Daniel Jikada of the Nasarawa State University Keffi, a facilitator, in his speech said theatre has gone beyond dancing and music, it must be unbundled through the use of photography, tie and dye, Screen printing, and knitting.

 

Saying the N100, 000 would help as a start-up grant, urging the beneficiaries to create content to make money.

 

“Dance is not just for entertainment but to make money, telling the participants to think outside the box”.

 

Creativity is very important in profit making, your content should be in form of storytelling, saying nothing is achievable without finance.

 

Dr. Daniel Jikada of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, urged the organizer to do more to bring people out of the clutches of poverty.

 

Prince  Augustine Inalegwu from Lafia Local Government applauded the Senator for organizing such a plausible programme.

 

Miss Rebecca Obande, in her remark, thanked God for being one of the beneficiaries. Stated that she belittles all disciplines of theatre art, not until now that the entire training has refreshed her, adding that she thought it was about dancing only.
