Kenya has become the first nation to crash out of the ongoing 14th edition of Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco after suffering a lone goal defeat in the hands of Senegal in both country’s second match of Group A played at Olympic Stadium in Rabat on Thursday.
Senegal and Metz women’s football club of France forward, Seynabou Mbengue scored the Teranga Lionesses of Senegal’s lone goal in the 34 minute of the game. She was assisted by another forward Ndeye Casset.
Kenya had last Sunday lost 4-0 to hosts Morocco in the opening match of the 2026 WAFCON just as it is all but confirmed that the East African country has crashed out of biggest women’s football competition in after losing two straight matches.
Meanwhile, Senegal which lost her opening match 2-0 to Algeria last Sunday have been given a lifeline and can qualify for the quarter-finals if the results of the last Group A matches favour the country.
