The Senator representing Plateau Central Senatorial District at Senate, Hezekiah Ayuba Dimka has trained women and youth on livestock, potato, and rice production, and processing and entrepreneurial skill development are as important as water is to human life.
He disclosed that the aim of the training is to execute his electioneering campaign promises to the good people of Plateau Central zone for the overwhelming support accorded as a Senator of the federal republic of Nigeria.
Sen.Dimka emphasized that immediately after they received their skills acquisition training at the end, grants were provided to all beneficiaries in order to engage them on markets for meaningful contribution to the economy and subsequent improvements in their well-being.
He restated that I believed that this training would give a fresh start and improve the economic status of the people in Plateau and the country.
Hezekiah maintained that the aim is to ensure that youth and women within the zone acquire skills for personal development as well as effective functioning in order to take ownership of their lives. Also, skills acquisition and empowerment helps in reducing unemployment, poverty, drug and substance abuse thereby ensuring a safe, healthy, and prosperous society.
In order to fulfill his people’s cantered developmental strides across the central zone, he set in motion frameworks that continued to drive the process in fiscal prudence, transparency, and strategic intelligence. In doing this, the Distinguished Senator appointed 117 special aids selected from the 5 LGAs of Plateau Central Senatorial District, he said.
He stressed that this was a purposive action directed towards poverty/unemployment reduction among the youth of Plateau Central Senatorial District.
Furthermore, in line with the distinguished youth empowerment philosophy, he lobbied for permanent and pensionable appointments to some youths with Federal government agencies, ministries, and parastatals including higher institutions where they have since resumed duties.
According to him, the youths are given a more permanent appointment that would guarantee some levels of financial independence and enable them to carry on even greater responsibilities of taking care of themselves and their dependents.
Sen. Ayuba Dimka expressed satisfaction with the significant, employment of many Plateau state youth into the NDLEA as a result of the Distinguished untiring resolve to empower the youth.
CONSTRUCTION OF FOUR NUMBERS OF THREE-BLOCK CLASSROOMS
Education is an enabling instrument that enlightened and helps in building capacity among people. Senator Dimka understood fully well that the value of education to a people cannot be over-emphasized.
This is because it is probably one of the most important tools towards an effective and quality change in any given society. In view of this understanding, encouraging teaching and learning becomes one of the top priorities of Distinguished Senator Dimka.
This project spreads across the five LGAs of the Plateau Central Senatorial District. These have been completed and have furthered the course of learning. This has also brought Western education to the doorsteps of the rural population. Indeed, Senator Dimka is guided by the philosophy that education is not only a tool for empowerment but a right of the people.
At the moment, the Distinguished has placed some students on academic scholarship as part of his commitment to empowering the youths of the central zone through the instrumentality of education. In appreciation to the Senator, Miss Joy Jikisim, a medical student among many others has publicly appreciated this gesture.
CONSTRUCTION OF MOTORISED SOLAR BOREHOLES
Over the years, obvious facts have proven that portable drinking water has been an issue in Plateau Central Senatorial District. This explains why the people were quick to identify Water supply as one of their major needs.
The Distinguished Senator made sure that funds were appropriated for this project with a lot of manifest proofs across the five LGAs in terms of the construction of motorized solar boreholes in order to alleviate the issues related to water scarcity in the communities and this is having a multiplier effect in the areas of health, economy, and Agriculture.
SKILLS DEVELOPMENT AND CAPACITY TRAINING FOR YOUTH AND WOMEN
Entrepreneurial skills development is as important as water is to human life. Distinguished Senator Dimka has trained both youth and women on livestock, potato, and rice production and processing. In the end, grants were provided for the trained youth in order to engage the markets for meaningful contribution to the economy and subsequent improvements in their well-being. It is the Senator’s belief that the training of youth and women within the zone will help them acquire skills for personal development as well as effective functioning in the communities.
This helped to ensure that women and youth in the zone are able to take ownership of their lives. This has gone a long way in reducing the menace of crime, unemployment, poverty, drug, and substance abuse, thereby ensuring a safe, healthy and prosperous society.

Following this, was the commencement of the second phase where 520 constituent members received training and provision of grants to enable for proper start-up in business? The title of the training program was “youth and women in livestock and rice production”. After being trained, they were given materials to enable them to be self-reliant and financially independent.
This event began at Trinity Missionary college Hall at Pankshin on 18th December 2020 till now and is still ongoing Some of the empowerment items distributed include; Tricycles (Keke-Napep), sewing machines, grinding machines, water pumping machines, and Knapsack sprayers.
This was in fulfillment of promises made earlier to the people.
