The Sayawa community has urged the Bauchi State governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir to install and give the staff of office to the Air commodore Ishaku Komo retired the Gung Zaar elect before the forthcoming general election to come in 2023.
In a statement issued during the celebration of the Zaar annual cultural festival over the weekend at central primary school Tafawabalewa in Bauchi State, the community told Bala to do the needful for the betterment of Zaar Land and Bauchi State.
The chairman planning committee for the festival Dr. Ishaya Audu said that before assuming office as State governor the issue of Zaar chiefdom was officially pending for it was previously handled by his predecessors without conclusion.
Dr. Audu added that, before then, a law was created on Zaar chiefdom by Gov. Isa Yuguda in 2011, in which some of its provisions were challenged in the Court of law, especially on the chiefdoms headquarters and its borders.
“As for the crisis, since 1991 during a census, which was used to create wards and poling units, there was an unexpected crisis that led to various panels of inquiries, litigations, committees, and others. All these bring about justice, fairness, and tranquility in governance, but up till now, this issue remains unsolved as if its a matter that is strange or something that has never existed in Bauchi State before. He stated.
Audu observe that “Zaar people contributed their 90% to ensure your emergence as the governor of Bauchi State in April 2019. Despite all attempts by the governor who was an incumbent governor, we did our best to deliver our block votes to insure Senator Bala Mohammed is elected as Bauchi State governor”.
” It will be recalled that senator Bala’s victory was sealed in Bauchi state during the “conclusive” election held in Tafawa Balewa in April 2019. It was at this occasion that Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa women coined a song titled “Bauchi ta Kaura ce… ” in praise of your electoral victory.

He told the governor that since his election as governor in 2019, he has not taken concrete action on the installation of Gung Zaar as the Paramount ruler of Zaar kingdom.
A committee was set up by the governor, to study previous judicial and other committee reports on the Zaar chiefdom but up to date, nothing has been heard about the governor’s committee, a development that the Zaar People are not comfortable with, and are appealing to the governor to expedite action on the Zaar chiefdom.
The chairman planning committee for the festival added that the Gung Zaar elect when installed will always settle the minor crisis peacefully within his power as the Paramount ruler of his people, without reference to the governor or any court of law.
