Provost, College Of Health Pankshin Reels Out Transformation Of The College Facilities

The Provost, College of Health Technology Pankshin (COHT), Dr Isah Francis Fwanje,  has disclosed the transformation and repositioning of the with modern facilities to improve the health standard of Plateau citizens by calling on those with require prerequisite qualification to apply.

He made this known during an interactive session with journalists in Pankshin LGA when he reeled out that the college has witnessed reforms and transformations under his stewardship.

He gave the session with Executives and Members of the Plateau Publishers Association(PPA) led by Mr John Daniel Bok the Publisher of National Horizon News Magazine and Vice Chairman of the Association.

Mr Bok said they were at the School to partner and collaborate with the management team for their pragmatic approach to issues.

The Vice Chairman commended the provost for his open-door policy towards the media and for the massive gains recorded by his administration.

Alongside the management team with the Rector were the Bursar Mr John B.Goldana and the Director Establishments Mr Monday L.Goshang  who welcomed the Publishers.

The Rector disclosed in an assessment tour by the media practitioners that within the period under review management has been able to upgrade and fence the College walls and the main gate to deter trespassers.

Other things include;

Refurbished main gate and perimeter fencing.

A Computer bus was also purchased by the institute.

Also the construction of a security gate post and two public toilets at the main gate.

Provision of 21 customised uniforms for the College Security outfit.

The Renovation of the Provost Block, Bursary, Audit, Old College Hall, Four classrooms, and board Room.

Within this period the College under the management team was able to resuscitate the Alumni Association and facilitated the provision of 2 units of male and female toilets.

He also disclosed that presently there is a bill in the State House of Assembly to change the status of the College from a monotechnic to a Polytechnic

A tailoring unit was also created for the provision of Student uniforms in conformity with dress codes befitting a health institution.

In addition to all these Solar lamps were installed at the strategic points of the College, the payment of staff pensions to 25 retirees, the full accreditation of Health information management and biostatistics and Pharmacy technician departments

Under the Fwanje administration, the College received awards in Revenue generation(IGR) and 1CT ranking top among tertiary institutions across the State and received commendations from the Commissioner for Higher Education on

He also castigated some media practitioners who without being on the ground have been disseminating false information about the current physical and monumental achievements of the management team and urged the press to always have the facts before publishing any story.
