Provost FCE Pankshin Identifies Business Education As Tool For Stamping Out Poverty

The Provost, Federal College of Education Pankshin Plateau state at the Annual National Conference of the Association of Business Educators of Nigeria, (ABEN) ,Dr. A. B. Cirfat has commended the federal government policy of eradicating poverty through skills acquisition and vocational business education.

He said education for self-reliance is currently the emphasis and business education is key for achieving federal government agenda.

Dr. Cirfat made this during the 29th annual national conference held at the main hall of Jos campus, Plateau state polytechnic Barkin Ladi .

He said that the recipients are a pool of qualified manpower for both the private and the public sectors of the economy to help diversify the country blueprints of government.

Cirfat urged federal government to provide the professional knowledge and vocational business skills necessary for industries growth for small scale businesses.

He charged business educators to give priority to commercial and economic development, and provide the necessary training for the acquisition of the requisite skills to individuals for self-reliance.

In addition, these business educators must constantly update their knowledge through research training, retraining and by attending workshops and conference of this nature, he added.

He also identified the objectives of business are geared towards the creation of jobs and poverty eradication through self-employment.
