The Head of Information, Mr. Istisfanus Kyakmut confirmed this to media at the NUJ, Plateau state council on Friday in Jos.
Kyakmut explained that the police arrested two of their students, took them to the force headquarter for several months until when they were convicted that information got to us and they college set up committee to investigate the matter which led to them being expelled for the act which is captured in paragraph 17 of the students hands book.
According to him, the chief Magistrate court Kasuwa Nama convicted them for being in possession of local fabricated firearms, however no records available to show or indicate that they were engaged in criminal activities.
Kyakmut added that these boys were amongst those students that are well behaved and they also have maintained good academic records in their performance.
He disclosed further that issue of cult activity is not known to them and that the students of Federal College of Education are 100% free from cultism and they are violent free.
The information officer stressed that the College under this present economic challenges have some issues, such as the issue of funding where the resources allocated them cannot complete some of the ongoing projects within the college.
He commended the prudent management of the resources in the execution of the ongoing projects by the present management and lauded TETFUND for prompt released of funds for completion of physical infrastructures, sponsoring of students scholarship program and medical facilities.
Kyakmut noted that the contractor handling the contracts have been performing credibly well in managing the little resources at his disposal towards the completion of the college.
