A contender for the seat of senator under the aegis of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa West senatorial district, Bar Labaran Magaji said the protest was necessitated due to the presence of a fake list of delegates circulating in the venue of the party primaries at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK).

According to Magaji, “I got wind of the game plan of some heavyweight in the party and respected traditional ruler walking against my aspiration, and I rushed to NSUK to confirm what is happening, that was when I met the Chairman of the election committee addressing fake delegates.
He in addition stated that the delegates of Toto and Nasarawa were in Lafia conducting House of Representatives primaries in the state capital and preparation was at top gear to conduct senate primaries in Nasarawa West.
“To my greatest surprise, when I met, the election committee chairman, he told me that he was acting on the names available in his list given to him by the national secretariat of the party”.
The aspirant explained that is ever ready to challenge any other person involved, he, however, hinted that he will remain in the party despite the total blackout by the electoral committee.
When asked about the presence of security operatives Bar Labaran Magaji averred that the number of army and police deployed to the venue surpassed the number of delegates for the party primary..
Urging his supporters to remind calm and resolute to await any action from the national secretariat of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC.
Sources from the venue of the primary election of Senator Nasarawa West revealed that the venue was marred by gunshots as delegates ran helter-skelter for their lives.
There was an indication that the primaries may hold today, Friday as delegates were lodged in hotels across Keffi.
