Not fewer than eight personalities are on the list,out of the Senatorial aspirant ,7 are contesting under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC ) while only one person is vying for the seat under the Labour Party. those contesting are

is the incumbent Deputy Governor of the State,He held from Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State and is contesting under the ruling All Progressives Congress.

As the number two man,he has an indellable marks on the sands of time, Especially during his last disbursement of empowerment across the three Senatorial zones.

The empowerment scheme was exclusively for the womenfolk.he was commended recently by Hon.Musa Ibrahim Abubakar for employing over 400 graduate at the Nasarawa State Hospital Management Board.

A distinguished legal practitioner and stalwart of the Labour Party (LP), Barrister Ayiwulu Baba Ayiwulu, has formally declared his intention to contest the Nasarawa South Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.

In a statement released via his social media platforms, Ayiwulu clarified that his decision to enter the race was driven solely by personal conviction and a desire to serve, dismissing speculations of external political influence.

“I want to clear all speculation and state with absolute clarity—no one called me to contest. I am stepping into this race of my own volition, fueled by a passion for justice and development,” he said.

The senatorial aspirant expressed confidence in his capacity to deliver effective representation, citing his legal background, competence, and energy as distinguishing factors.

“I bring a level of energy, competence, and legal expertise that surpasses both those who have served in the past and those currently in office,” Ayiwulu stated.

Highlighting his core objective, he noted that his ambition is centered on quality representation for the people of Nasarawa South.

“I have only one agenda: good representation. My goal is to ensure that the voice of Nasarawa South is heard loud and clear in the Red Chamber—nothing more, nothing less,” he added.

Ayiwulu, known for his experience in legal practice, also pledged to usher in a new era of proactive and transparent leadership for the district. He called on constituents to move beyond traditional political considerations and support a candidate committed to delivering tangible results.

Distinguished Senator Ishaq Elayo is  contesting for  senator  Nasarawa South under the African Democratic Congress,the ADC.Some people described him as humble and influential  in all ramifications.

He held from Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State,he work all his life to reach the pinnacles of his carrier as an officer of  the Nigeria Police Force  as Deputy Inspector General of Police.

He served in various capacities before his retirement from active service.

Hon.Abubakar Hassan Nalaraba

He held from Keana Local Government Area of Nasarawa State,Is the present Member House of Representatives,Representing Awe/Doma/Keana Federal constituency.

Is the last to join race of Senate seat Nasarawa South senatorial district,He was amongst those seeking for the seat of Governorship of Nasarawa State before the endorsement of Distinguished Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada as the preferred candidate of Governor Abdullahi Sule.

Barr.Mustapha Adagyo Galadima

He held from Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State,he held key position after the creation of Nasarawa State from the defunct Plateau State.

Is amongst the first set of Director General (D.G) after the State creation ,He served as Secretary of the CPC in the State.

Dr.Yusuf Agabi

Is a great personality in Nasarawa South senatorial district,A Governorship candidate of the opposition political party,the PDP before he defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress,a former and retired former with the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) before his retirement in the Federal Civil Service,Is contesting under the APC.

Abdullahi Tanko Zubairu (MAN)

His popular name is “Man is machine,Hon.Abdullahi Tanko Zubairu was a former member House of Representatives representing Awe/Doma /Keana Federal constituency after the selected of Barr Musa Elayo from the House of Representatives as Minister of Justice State.

He represented his people well during that time.
