Prof Yubunga Decries Poor Performance Of Graduands Due To Accommodation Problems In Kangere College

The Rector, Adamu Tarawa Balewa College of Education Kangere, Bauchi state, Prof Adamu Magaji Yubunga has raised alarm over the falling standard of education and poor performance of the college graduands owning to inadequate learning facilities.

 

He solicited the cooperation of Governor Bala Mohammed, President Muhammadu Buhari and spirited individuals to help boost learning t by making learning environment conducive for the students of the college and provision of hostels accommodation.

 

Speaking to our correspondent in Bauchi during the graduation ceremony of 600 students of the college in Kangere he said the college which is a baby institution is in dire need of infrastructures to meet the need of students across, Plateau, Gombe, Bauchi and others who are coming to acquire knowledge to enable them to impact positively to their immediate society.

 

Prof Magaji Yubunga charged the graduands to be a good ambassador of the college in projecting the name of the school in their entire future endeavor which will help to promote the college.

 

He promised to replace the old system of payment of students’ fees with internet system to curtail fraudulent activities of fraudsters who siphon money meant for the development of the college.

 

Magaji Yubunga raised an alarm that the manual system of collection and payment had continued to affect smooth operations of the college in diverse ways where most of the students are not captured during their session because instead of the college getting N80 million, the end up with N34 million which might not encourage developmental strides in the college.

 

He maintained that the college had paid counterpart funds for the college to commence training and retraining of lecturers outside the country under TEFUND program.

 

Prof Magaji Yubunga applauded the National Chairman, TETFUND, and Prof Suleiman’s Bogoro for his positive contributions to the welfare of the college.

 

He added arrangement had reached an advanced stage to ensure that drainage, qualitative water supply, hostel accommodation with other infrastructures are made available to the college and provision of the conducive training center of excellence for the upcoming generation.

The university don reiterated that he is working hard to reposition the college academic calendar by introducing a new policy that will improve the college and curb the activities of cultists in partnership with the security personnel deployed in the area.

 

He noted that the college operates former and non-former education with a total of no fewer than 800,900 students both in NCE and adult education now experiencing inadequacy from infrastructures deficit but with the intervention from the TEFUNDs we are planning to landscape the college.

 

However, the falling standard of education being experienced is one of the biggest challenges affecting learning.
