Gombe state police command has paraded 28 suspects in connection to various degrees of crimes including killing, armed robbery, theft, rape, burglary and other crimes. According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Fwaje Attajiri, suspects would be charged to court to face the law.
While parading the suspects in Gombe yesterday, the Police scribe stated that, the police command had after embarking on an intelligent lead policing, was able to unfold many criminal hide outs, and had been able to apprehend some of the suspects at various points within the state capital.
He further explained that, four of the twenty eight suspects were in connection to killing of one Mohammed Bunu Abubakar, who was attacked at Anguwan Idi quarters in Gombe. He said attackers inflicted many injuries on the victim which lead to his death. He added that, five suspects have already been charged to court in conned action to the said crime, while three are still at large.
Attajiri who warned that people should stay away from crimes also, also sought for public cooperation by remaining vigilant, and giving out useful information to the police.
“We are always saying that, security is not the duty of police alone, we are calling on public to assist in ensuring security, these criminals are not ghosts, they are people like us and they live among us, so we are urging the public to assist in giving us information.” He added.
He added that, the police would not leave any stone unturned in ensuring peace and security in the state.
