The State Acting Chairman of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau state, Chief Raymond Dabo has traded blame with the All Progressive Congress (APC) over disruption of democratic structures of Local Government level and demand due process.
He called on the House of Assembly to investigate the true position as to whether any such loans have been obtained and take all necessary action to forestall same.
Dabo made this disclosure at the PDP secretariat while briefing journalists in the state.
He reminded the House of Assembly to see themselves as watch dogs of the current administration on behalf of the people of the state ,adding any attempt to usurp their powers is worth condemning even by the APC as a democratic party as its claims.
The PDP chairman traded words of blame with the government of Bar. Simon Lalong that attempt to lord’s itself above other democratic structures of governance, so early in the life of its administration, must be heading on a suicide mission.
“We call on all plateau people to wake up and defend our hardly earned democracy, stressing that People Democratic Party remains committed to the upliftment of the people future”.
He condemned the removal of the 17 LGA chairmen of Plateau state which is back by nothing short of power intoxication described the law which was enacted under the watch of Rt Hon.Simon Bako Lalong as a big blunder.
According to him, in spite of the existence of a court injunction restraining the same administration from any attempt to unseat the said chairmen section 74 of the state’s law explained that Local Government council shall stand dissolved after the expiration of a period of 3 years commencing from the date ,the chairman took the oath of office and when the legislative council was inaugurated.
He explained that 6 members of the Local Government Area legislative arm purported to have sat at an illegal venue to preside over the suspension of Honourable Kemi Nicholas Nshe and the deputy as absolute disregard of the local government law of 2005 which sets out very clearly ,the procedure for removal of an executive officer .
