The Chairman Plateau State Football Association of Nigeria, Comrade Sunday Samson Longbap has refuted allegations peddled by mischief makers that Plateau United Football Team which is currently topping the premier league are poorly paid and are enjoying March fixing.
Addressing journalists at his office in Jos, Longbap told sports journalists that the team is one of the best in the country and the amiable governor’s Lalong has done credibly well in releasing funds for the team.
He said, the Plateau State football association is one of the best, we don’t fixed matches, we don’t enhance the players but we provide adequate security and their safety.
According to him, the Plateau United had one of the beat coach in Nigeria, he had the experience practically and theoretically and had encourage his players to produce positive results in all the matches so far play this season.
Longbap express confidence with the performance of the team this season, the state recorded the highest number of crowds trooping into the stadium in full capacity to watch the lives marches than any where else in Nigeria.
We always try to avoid criminal elements coming to disrupt lives matches, we provide security network for those that are willing to come and watch plateau United play.
He debunked allegations of match fixing as baseless issue ,plateau United is the most favour and the only team that was rank top in the country, adding, there was a time when the vehicle conveying the team broke down and we make sure that the players were treated very well.
However, the issue of bringing the players to sleep in one room Longbap said since the beginning of this season none of the players can complain of them put together in one room.
He maintained that the Lalong administration is a lover of football game and he hasn’t defaulted in payments of match bonus and arrears to them, they have been enjoying prompt payment of the monthly allowance .
Comrade Longbap Congratulated Governor’s Simon Bako Lalong government landslide victory at the Supreme Court judgement which is an indication the people voted him.
He urged the governor to extend his hands of fellowship to the opposition towards moving the state government forward.
Longbap called on the good people of Plateau State to give Lalong the maximum cooperation for him to discharge dividends of democracy to the people of Plateau State.
We want clarification on alleged match fixing for Plateau United, FC, and its inability to settle match bonuses to players, poor attention especially away, games, and substandard hotels with 6 players in one room.
