Simon-LalongThe leadership of the youth forum of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau has raised an alarm over impunity in the administration of Plateau state governor Barr. Bako Lalong.

The PDP youth forum made this known yesterday through its Chairman Mr. Joel Jonathan during a press conference that was held in Jos, the Plateau state capital.

According to the forum, less than a month in office governor Lalong dissolved local government chairmen, who are just one year and four months in office, having being sworn-in February, 2014.

It could be recalled that governor Lalong government rode to victory on the change slogan which has the rule of law as one of its major components.

The forum explained that the governor would have allowed the chairmen to complete their tenure as it was stipulated in Nigeria constitution.

The dissolution of local government council chairmen by the governor is not unconnected to issues at the tribunal where the APC led government is anticipating either the tribunal will nullify the election and order for a re-run election in favor of PDP the forum said.

The forum also drew the attention of the governor to Supreme Court judgment in 2014 that said no state governor has the right to remove democratic elected local government council officials.

They called on the public as matter of urgency to condemn the impunity acts carried by the Lalong administration.

The PDP forum warned elders who worked against the success of the party at the just concluded general elections to be conscious as the party would not allow elders who are not for the party to hoodwink the national body of PDP that they are with PDP, adding that the crisis rocking the APC is an indication that PDP members will soon decamp back as PDP remain the true democratic party in the country.
