  • As Tinubu Hands Over Rivers ACN Structures To Governor Amaechi

Following the resignation of Dr. Abiye Sekibo a former Minister of Transport from the Action Congress of Nigeria last Thursday, Universalreporters can authoritatively confirm that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has began moves to woo Sekibo to the party, this according to a close source is to cement its hold on the party in the state ahead of the 2015 battle.
As gathered by universalreporters, last Thursday’s  resignation of Sekibo citing personal reasons for living the party may not after all be the reasons as this medium gathered that the prior to his living the party, the once Transport Minister had serious political battle with the ACN leadership where Tinubu was calling the shots.

According to the source; “Sekibo ordeals in the party began when the embattled governor of Rivers State Rotimi Amaechi saw the ACN as an alternative platform to hold on for his 2015 ambition approached Tinubu, where he made his intention of moving to the ACN all in a bid hold the party’s structures in the state following the running battle that engulfed him in the PDP.
According to our source; “Amaechi told Tinubu that he will sponsor the yet to be registered APC Presidential and Vice-Presidential Candidates for the 2015 election with Tinubu serving as the Vice Presidential Candidate of the APC, an offer which it was gathered Tinibu quickly accepted.”
“Having accepted the offer, Tinubu handed over the Party structures in the state over to Amaechi where Sekibo was asked to work under Amaechi, suggestion which didn’t go down well with Sekibo and with his political clout and strength in Rivers State, it was obvious that Sekibo will never be under Amaechi under any situation,” no matter what, said our source.
Meanwhile with the chasing away of Amaechi from the PDP becoming visible, the PDP has started making clandestine moves to woo Sekibo to the PDP in order to hold the structure of the PDP and eventually run for the office of the governor the state come 2015 and with the former Transport Minister running against Amaechi in 2015, it is obvious that he will floor Amaechi in the state.
Universalreporters gathered that already the PDP BoT Chairman, Tony Anenih and the PDP chairman Alhaji Bamanga Tukur have already met with Sekibo in a bid to woo him to the party, and the next line of action is for him to meet with President Goodluck Jonathan to cement the whole arrangement.

Meanwhile, political pundits points out that with Sekibo coming from the same place with the First Lady, Patience Goodluck Jonathan, it is a visible thing that the First Lady will want someone from her place to hold the Government House in 2015.
