The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is aware of a planned rally of the  All Progressive Congress (APC), which is slated for 19th January, 2019 where Mr. President is expected to grace  the occasion.

John T .Akans the State Publicity Secretary,  PDP, Plateau State in statement in Jos on Thursday said, “While we do not begrudge the planned visit, we expect Mr. President to, beyond the political outing, inspect and commission some projects ‘executed’ by this administration as has been the case in other states he has visited. We are aware that even some projects, particularly the Bukuru – Mararaban jama’a high way which was ‘commissioned’ by him during his last state visit has been abandoned.

Our position is informed by the need to put to rest the lies being bandyed by Governor Lalong in a desperate attempt to justify his mismanagement of the funds that have accrued to his administration in the last three and half years.

It is exciting to note that the planned visit of Mr.President is coming after Plateau people resolved on Saturday,12th January, 2019 at the Hassan Katsina Polo field, Jos, to overwhelmingly endorse the incoming President, Alh. Atiku Abubakar together with our governorship candidate, Senator General Jeremiah Timbut Useni.

It is no longer news that Nigerians and, indeed, Plateau people, in particular,  have rejected the APC.

We are happy to note as well the fact that the God-fearing and peace-loving people of Plateau have spoken, and have dedicated this forthcoming general election to God.

We are glad our people have come out to let the Lalong administration know that in the past three and half years, it has set up an agenda aligning itself with the enemies of the state who are hell bent on bringing about a cessation of our heritage as a people.

We are worried to note that in further display of Governor Lalong’s desperation, to impress Mr President while in Plateau State, the APC is known to have gone to the neighbouring state of Bauchi, Nasarawa and Gombe to, again, to rent crowds for the purposes of the January 19 Presidential rally. We are aware this move is intended to cover up the expected abysmal outing after being rejected by the people of Plateau.

While we condemned this planned importation of thugs into the state, as is typical of them in recent times, we call on Plateau people to remain vigilant, courageous and fearless in defense of our hard-earned democracy.

As a party, we assure the people of Plateau State, that together with our candidate Distinguished Senator General Jeremiah Timbut Useni, we are fully prepared for the forthcoming general election. We are confident of coasting home with a well-deserved victory. This election is about restoring our lost dignity as a people.

Finally, we caution troublemakers and those who are planning to sabotage the collective efforts of Plateau people who are set to reclaim their  heritage that has been on a decline since the APC administration took centre stage.

We  are warning in the strongest terms those behind the destruction of our campaign materials, including billboards and posters.

Furthermore, those trying to import thugs should have a rethink as our people are prepared now, more than ever before, to protect their lives properties.
