One Year Anniversary: Nasarawa Information Commissioner Hail Journalists For Positive Reporting

Comrade Dogo Shammah, the Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism has hailed Journalists in Nasarawa State for positive reportage of Government activities in the last one year.

 

Shammah in an exclusive interview explained that Journalists in the State are portraying the current administration in a positive way.

 

He said the reportage of Journalists in Nasarawa State was a true reflection of Journalism based on ethical values which he has to do with precision and fairness in all ramifications.

 

The immediate past Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists described Governor Abdullahi Alhaji.Sule’s administration as press friendly Government build on trust and openness.

 

He however stated that the focussed of the incumbent administration in Nasarawa State is to accord impetus to the welfare of media practitioners in the State for optimum result.

 

“Our doors as Government are open for constructive criticism as far as Journalism practice is concern”.

 

The Commissioner also urged practitioners in the field to indulge in investigative Journalism, saying investigative Journalism would give a reporter an ample opportunity to discover the truth.

 

Shammah appealed to the people of Nasarawa State to support all the programmes of Government that has direct impact on the lives of the people.

 

The Commissioner called on Fulani pastoralists and farmers in the State to always reach an agreement instead of indulging in wanton disturbance during the wet season.
