Omission Of UPP Logo Inuwa Ask Tribunal To Annul ID Gyang Victory And Orders INEC To Conduct Fresh Election

The Plateau State House of Assembly and National Assembly Election sitting at West of mines , has fixed 25th June, for prehearing into a petition challenging the returned of Senator Istifsnus Gyang, as the Senator representing Plateau North Senatorial district.
Hon. Sanusi Muhammad Inuwa, of the United People’s Party (UPP), is in a petition No. EPT/PL/NA/01/2019, challenging the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and two others, over omission of his party logo in the 2019 General election.
In the petition Inuwa is seeking the tribunal to determine wither, he was validly nominated by his party, wither or not the 1st respondent Senator Istifanus Gyang, of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), was validly elected as returned by INEC, in compliance with the provisions of the electoral act.
He is also seeking for the tribunal to annul the election and order INEC, to conduct fresh election and also include him to participate.
As at Monday’s proceedings, Counsel to the petitioner, M.A. Tauwa, has was at the tribunal with, Sanusi Muhammad Inuwa and two other witnesses, saying he will present four witnesses to close his case in one day.
Similarly, Counsel to the 1st respondent, Niri Darong, told the tribunal that he will presents four witnesses, while the 3rd and 4th respondent Counsels, being PDP and INEC, IG Shanding and KL Olawoye, said they have one witnesses each to present.
The tribunal chairman Justice, T. N.Nzegwu, adjourned the matter, saying Matter adjourned for hearing to 25th June, for all parties to presents their witnesses numbering 10 in number.
Likewise, the tribunal has slated 4th of July, for hearing into a petitioned filed by Hon. Jonathan Dabo challenging the returned of Hon. Haruna Maitala, into the Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency.
