NLC Gives Nasarawa Govt  Ultimatum To  Implement New National Minimum Wage

The National Executive Council, Nigeria Labour Congress has directed all State Councils where the National Minimum Wage has not been fully implemented by the 30th of November 2024 to proceed on strike beginning from the 1st day of December, 2024.

The position of the national body was contained in a statement issued by the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Joe Ajaero, and made available to Journalists.

Saying workers are denied their rightful wages amidst rising economic hardship.

He expresses displeasure over the persistent delay by some State Governments to implement the 2024 National Minimum Wage Act.

Comrade Ajaero says the NLC shall initiate a series of industrial actions in all non-compliant States and shall not relent until the minimum wage is fully implemented across Nigeria.

The NLC also demands appropriate petrol pricing and calls for the Public domestic refineries in Port-Harcourt, Warri, and Kaduna to quickly come back on stream.
