Niger State Commissioner Of Transport Distributes Uniforms To VIOs

To enhance motivation and drive professionalism, the Niger State Commissioner of Transport has distributed new sets of uniforms to the Department of Motor Vehicle Administration Staff.

 

Presenting the items to the Director of the Department, Umar Kuki, the Commissioner restated the commitment of the Ministry in ensuring safer roads within the State.

 

Additionally, after appreciating the support and encouragement of Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, the Governor of Niger State, Hon. Rahmatu also directed the Department to be professional in their operations and courteous in their conduct with motorists.

 

The Commissioner further stated that the Staff should maintain the uniforms as well as the Hilux Vans and Motorcycles the Ministry recently acquired for their operations. She stated that she will not relent in repositioning the Ministry for better performance.

 

Receiving the items on behalf of the Department, the Director assured the Commissioner of their readiness and commitment to service.

 

The items include more than one thousand pieces of rain coats, rain boots, sweaters, shoes, jungle boots, ceremonial wears, rank uniforms, caps and cardigans.

 

Recall that the Ministry of Transport recently acquired hilux vans and Motorcycles for VIO, buses for NSTA, mended the State owned ferries, distributed life jackets for riverine areas and is working tirelessly to operationalize the inland waterways.

 

Also at the handover was the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, the Director of Admin, Store Officer, Procurement Officer and the Accountant.
