The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has inaugurated the 27 local offices in Jigawa state chapter for the Local Emergency Management Agency Committee (LEMA) on Wednesday in Dutse.
The Committee was inaugurated by the Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
The Director-General was represented by the DG Kano regional office, Dr. Nurudden Abdullahi, and the Deputy Governor of Jigawa state.
The Director-general also called on the Jigawa state government to support the LEMC with everything it requires for the takeoff, of the programme at the local government saying having such a Committee at the local level can easily assist to prevent bad things from happening.
He further explained that the Committee can assist people from the grassroots to prevent unforeseen circumstances that used to happen in areas that are difficult to access.
Also speaking, the Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Umar Namadi said Governor Badaru will give support to the committee to enable it to serve the people in the state.
