Nasarawa State Government Realizes Over N2 Billion In Save 1 Million Lives Initiative-Governor Sule

Nasarawa State Governor, Engr.Abdullahi Alhaji has confided that the State Government has realized over  N2bn from the “Save one  million Lives” Programme.

 

Engr.Sule hinted this while declaring the 2019 Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference of the state branch of the Association open in Keffi.

 

Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, the State Deputy Governor who represented Governor Sule promised to improve on the State Government commitment in the health sector.

 

He Reiterated that partnership is the only alternative to improve healthcare services in the State as well in actualizing qualitative and high impact healthcare intervention.

 

Governor Sule applauded members of the Nigeria Medical Association, stating further that the government would accord  topmost priority to the welfare of medical Doctors by creating an enabling working environment for health practitioners.

 

He noted that the equipping and provision of facilities to the State tertiary hospital,the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital as well the rejuvenation of the moribund Drug Revolving Fund scheme at the DASH Lafia has showns commitment of the State Government.

 

He further assured NMA that the State Government would put into use the newly expanded clinics in the Specialist hospital next one month.

 

Francis Adedayo,the National President of Nigeria Medical Association buttressed that the  Association is not relenting in  ensuring that members work as an entity.

 

The National President of NMA sue for unity in the health sector,adding that unity in the sector would go a long way in improving the sector.

 

Bulus Umar, Nasarawa State Chairman of NMA, in his opening remark hinted that the Association would continue to accord impetus to a cordial working relationship.

 

He commended the State Government for  the implementation of the State Health Insurance Scheme.

 

Umar however called on the State Government to revisit some nagging  issues  affecting its members which he said  includes; heavy taxation, nonpayment of promotion arrears.
