Nasarawa Polytechnic To Establish Ultra-Modern Science Complex and Laboratory With TETFUND Allocation –Rector

The rector Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia has revealed that the institution in a concerted effort to encourage engineering courses would establish an ultra-modern Science complex and laboratory.

The head of the Polytechnic, Dr. Silas Gyar hinted this during an interactive session with selected Journalists in his office.

Gyar speaking on ongoing strike action embarked by the three tertiary institutions explained that the strike has seriously crippled academic activities of the institutions, adding that very soon the strike would be over.

“The Joint Union of Tertiary institutions are demanding for the payment of arrears of last promotion for the period of three years”.

Commenting on the activities of Tertiary Education Trust Fund ranging from execution of projects and staff training, Dr. Silas Gyar said a lot has been achieved from the normal and special interventions.

“We are expecting another allocation from TETFUND and this time around we will focused on the establishment of a Science complex, ultra-modern Science complex and laboratories “.

The headship of Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia averred that the institution has introduced engineering courses like Mechatronics and Autotronics  respectively, he however said facilities for the take-off of the programmes are intact.

Dr.Silas Gyar while answering questions over the delayed in the kick-off of a proposed Radio/Tv station in the Polytechnic, he said very soon work would commences, as he in addition confided that all facilities required are on ground.

On the commitment of TETFUND on sponsorship of staff for further studies abroad, the rector buttressed that over twenty (20) staff benefited from TETFUND staff training.
