Nasarawa PDP Ward Congresses Rumpus: Party Recommend The Replacement  of State Executive With Caretaker Committee

The brawl that ensued in the opposition political party in Nasarawa State,the People’s Democratic Party over the non-conduct of ward Congresses in eleven Local Governments of the State on May 7th,2020,the Appeal Panel has recommended for the immediate setting up of caretaker committee for the State executives of the party.

 

The party position was contained in a four pages report of the ward Congresses Appeal Panel for Nasarawa State signed by the Chairman of the Panel, Dr.Umar Garba, Hon.Mrs Oyetola Stella as Secretary while Dr.Daniel Ayinsa as a member respectively.

 

The four pages report identified Awe, Akwanga, Doma,Lafia,Keana, Keffi, Nasarawa,Nasarawa, Nasarawa Eggon,Obi,Toto,Wamba having quantum of petitions against Chairman and State Secretary of the Party while Karu and Kokona has no complain.

 

The Panel received eleven petitions accusing the State Chairman of abusing his privileged position.

 

The petitioners also accused the party Chairman of dispatching results sheets without consideration.

 

Those results send to a few selected wards and it was a photocopies bearing on the same serial number.

 

That all Chairmen and Secretaries of all the ten electoral wards in Keana, been his Local Government were summoned to State Secretariat on the scheduled date of election.

 

The report revealed that the affected wards in Keana are Kadarko, Aloshi and Amiri wards while in Lafia Local Government some selected contenders were denied the opportunity to serve their party.

 

In Awe Local Government, eight electoral wards that congresses did not hold are Azara, Akiri,Ribi,Galadima, Madaki,Makurangiji,Kanje/Abuni,and Wuse while in Lafia election did not hold in six polling units.

 

The Party Appeal Panel recommend an outright cancellation of the results of the ward Congresses, executives and ad-hoc delegates were said to have been elected at the ward Congresses of the 7th March,2020 as no such took place in Nasarawa State. And a rescheduled Congress should be fixed for the State to be conducted by an electoral Panel different from the first Panel sent on the  7/03

2020.

 

The Appeal Panel wish to thank the Chairman and members of the National Working Committee for the rear opportunity afforded them to serve the Party in that key capacity.

 

The Panel gave the assurance of redoubling their commitment to contribute their quota towards re-positioning the Party.
