Nasarawa PDP In Jubilation As Party Zones Governorship Ticket To Northern Senatorial District

The state secretariat of the People’s Democratic Party in Nasarawa state was plunged into fanfare following the zoning of the governorship ticket to the northern senatorial district.
The state chairman of the party, Hon.Francis Orogu hinted this while addressing creme de la’ creme of the party who converged at the party office to witnessed the official defection of the former Attorney General and commissioner of Justice under governor Al-Makura,Hon Innocent Lagi.
Orogu said the decision to zone the governorship to the northerner senatorial district was to refocus the party,build confidence in the mind of members.
The chairman buttressed that the zoning formula was for the interest of peace, unity, moral consciousness and political perfection, stating that the party would meet relevant stakeholders to make other zoning to accommodate the remaining zones for the sake of Justice and fairness.
The Chairman of Board of Trusty, Walid Jibrin in his speech thrown his weight on the decision of the state executive, saying the effort would ensure peace and foster togetherness in the party.
Hon.Orogu appreciates members of the party for the support they accorded the party, saying the success recorded was a result of the utmost support given to the executive.
He listed some of the success stories to include the refocusing of the party, building confidence in the mind of members, ensuring discipline within the rank and file of the party structure and its members in general.
He however commended representatives of the party at the national and state Assembly for financial assistance to the secretariat.
The party chairman listed paucity of fund, mobility to carryout political activities which he said include political visitation to Local Governments, wards and other targeted areas as require for optimum mobilization and sensitization of party members.
“The State Working Committee in its quest to succeed, operate and adhere strictly to the constitution of the party is organising constant meeting and consultation with recognised organs of the party”.
A former commissioner, Usman Bagudu commended the leadership for zoning the governorship slut to Nasarawa north senatorial district; saying is unusual for neglecting the northerner zone.
“Western zone ruled for eight years, Nasarawa South ruled for four years before the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress whisk power away, now is the turn of Nasarawa north”.
The erstwhile minister of Information, Patricia Akwashiki who spoke on behalf of the womenfolk eulogized the party leadership for refocusing the party, calling on party members to remain united.
Distinguish Senator Suleiman Adokwe who spoke on behalf of members of the national Assembly congratulated the party executive for mobilizing party supporters.
The third time senator said the zoning of the governorship slut to Nasarawa north senatorial district is equitable and fair, saying the people are in full support of the zoning formula.
