The Chairman of the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission, Barr Ayuba Usman Wandai has said the State electoral umpire in a swift move to make a difference in the last Local Government election has illuminate human factors from the 4th October 2024 poll.
The Chairman averred that the Commission is as fixed on the 4th of October 2024 for Chairmanship and Councillorship elections respectively.
He stated that one of the core challenges in the last Local Government election was the inability of the Commission to pay it ad-hoc staff as at when due.
Other ineffectiveness, according to Ayuba Wandai like the manual recruitment of staff, The Commission has switched to online application of ad-hoc staff.
Saying the innovation would reduce or end some bottlenecks affecting the commission, He added.
He said other innovation and improvements in the Commission also include the introduction of live announcements of election results.
“Recalling that the Commission conducted the last election on Wednesday 6th October, 2021and the present Local Government Council officials were sworn in and inaugurated on Friday 8th for a tenure of three years which will end on Monday 7th October 2024.
He said the one-month notice for the conduct of Local Government election in Nasarawa State is on point.
