Muslim Community Pays Sallah Homage  To Gbong Gwom Jos

The Muslims communities of Jos North  and Jos South Local Government Councils of Plateau State  have paid a traditional Salah greetings to the Gbong Gwom Jos, His Majesty, Da Jacob Gyang Buba as they assured him of peaceful coexistence to foster unity and progress of the state.

 

The Makaman-Jos, Alh. Hamisu Ali-Jos AIG (rtd) led Muslim  Ummah to the palace of Gbong Gwom Jos  accompanied by Sarkin Bukur, Alh. Nasiru Suleiman and Engr. Mansir Salihu Nakande Maidakali.

 

On behalf of the two communities, Makamanjos, Ali-Jos, said they are law abiding citizens and also called on the Gbong Gwom Jos to facilitate with the government to complete abundant roads projects in New Market via Bauchi road, Anguwan rogo-Anguwan Rimi and others that are still ongoing.

 

He commended Governor Simon Lalong on his efforts to commence the rebuilding of Jos main market burnt down in 2001.

 

The retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, pleaded with the Gbong Gwom,Jos  to support in the fencing of  Central Eid ground in Ali kazaure in Jos, the Plateau state capital, and the vacant space by the central mosque in Bukur. Alh. Hamisu Ali-Jos.

 

They also enjoined the Paramount ruler to support the current fight against drugs trafficking amongst the Youths in state.

 

In his remarks, the Sarkin Bukur Alh. Nasiru Suleiman eulogized his Majesty in his role towards building bridges of peace among communities in the state in respective of tribe, religion or geographical location.

 

He appealed to Gbong Gwom Jos, Gyang Buba in restoring the initial date for the sallah visits to tally with the the governor which is the normal tradition.

 

Engr. Mansir Nakande Maidakali-Jos appreciated the moved by the Gbong Gwom Jos in ensuring that peace reign in the state by trying to see that Hausa-fulani and other ethnic tribes are employed in the state civil service.

 

Responding, the Gbong Gwom Jos,  Da Jacob Gyang Buba, promised to assist the communities by laying the request before, his Excellency, the Executive Governor of Plateau state, Simon Bako Lalong.

 

The Gbong Gwom Jos added that, he will ensure that, adequate measures are taken on the issues of youths restiveness and drugs abused by Youths across the state.

 

Highlights of the sallah greetings include presentation of “Kolanut” and photographs.
