Margif  Charges Security  To  Investigate  Certificate Forgery Of  Politicians

Yakubu Busari

A Former Labour Party Governorship Aspirant in Plateau, Chief Yohana Yilpwan Margif has charged on law enforcement agencies to thoroughly investigate politicians alleged to have used forged certificates in order to win elections.

Margif who made the call in a statement, noted that the news of politicians using forged certificates to win elective offices is not only a dent in their image but also a setback in the political process which requires a strong institution to checkmate these anomalies.

He lamented that the rate at which politicians go to ensure they win elections is very alarming and urged law enforcement agencies to do their part to ensure that political leaders who represent the people emerge from a transparent process devoid of fraud and controversy.

” This unfortunate development happened to me when I was unlawfully substituted as the Governorship candidate of the Labour Party without any recourse to the constitution of the party and electoral act” He remarked.

” The National Chairman of the LP, Julius Abure, the National Secretary, Plateau State Chairman of the Party, Grace Zamfara , the Party’s governorship flag bearer, Patrick Dakum and his Deputy ganged up against me and fraudulently substituted my name ahead of the last general election without my consent. This development contributed in no small measure to our defeat in the general election” Margif regretted.

The former governorship aspirant recalled with regret how those people connived to rob him of the ticket which was legitimately given to him after emerging victorious at the party’s primaries supervised by the National secretariat of the party.

This, according to Margif prompted him to seek redress at a Court of competent jurisdiction which subsequently ordered the Inspector-General-of-Police to investigate the matter as he has since invited Grace Zamfara to investigation at the CID FCT, Command, Abuja, while efforts are to apprehend those at large to face justice.

He appealed to law enforcement agencies to be more proactive on issues that have to do with forgery and other crimes which are capable of truncating the nation’s democracy as the court that is the hope of the common man is been threatened.
