Lecturers, Students of IMAPOLY Jittery of Resumption As Unidentified Persons Were Sighted At Holding Centre

Lecturers and students of the then Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia now Isa Mustapha Agwai l Polytechnic, Lafia has sent a Save our Soul message to the state governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule to fumigate the two hostels used as holding centers for coronavirus victims in the state.

 

A lecturer and students who pleaded anonymity said the appeal became necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19 to returning students.

 

It could be recalled that the two hostels built by the former governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura meant to accommodate male and female students which were used as holding centers to keep people coming to Nasarawa state for a period of 14 days to authenticate whether they are coronavirus positive.

 

As at press time when Journalists visited the school as at 10:03 am, no staff of the institution was seen with infrared, a device for measuring body temperature.

 

 

Our reporter can authoritatively reveal that at the administrative block of IMAPOLY no hand sanitizers, soap or water, are seen in the vicinity while lecturers and other staff in the administrative block were seen without face mask.

 

The question that needed ardent answers is what happened to Mathematic students with a population of over 450 students? Did the institution has the intention to observe the social distance protocol by introducing morning, afternoon, and evening classes, If yes, is there any attempt to procure more seats that would accommodate the population ?.

 

A staff who pleaded anonymity at press time confided that proper academic activities would commence on Monday next week.

 

The State Commissioner of education, Honorable Fati Sabo, and her counterpart in the Ministry of Health, Pharmacy Ahmed Yahaya could not be reached to comment over the availability of infrared, soap, water, and hand sanitizers.
