It was bizarre at Obokwu Community of Obinze Owerri West LGA of Imo State as residents of the area were thrown into mourning on Monday, June 6th, 2022, after a family of 12 was found unconscious in their apartment.
The incident that threw the community in a state of confusion saw the victims rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
Shortly after their arrival at the Imo State Specialist Hospital, Umuguma in Owerri, five members of the family out of the twelve victims were confirmed dead while the remaining victims are currently receiving medical attention from nurses and doctors of the hospital battling to save their lives.
A community source who pleaded anonymity disclosed that the incident was a result of a land dispute between the Kingsley Oguzie family and the Ekegbu family from the same community.
According to the community source, ” “Kingsley Oguzie (late) as at five days ago brought deity into land in crisis to mediate in the lingering land disputes between the two families and last month, Kingsley lost his younger brother via a motor accident while Mr. Ekegbu lost his wife in an auto crash too
“Currently wife of the late Kingsley is in Coma while two of her children have been revived in a prayer house in the community,” the source told the press.
Meanwhile, our reporter who navigated to Obinze to get more information as it concerns the ugly incident confirmed that the incident truly occurred and some persons were dead as reported.
