Killing Resumes In Irigwe Land, As Alleged Herdsmen Goes On On Rampage In Plateau Villages

The President of  Irigwe, Hon  Ayuba Chinge has raised an alarm that the sudden Killing of Irigwe people by men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen is gradually resuming again In the last two weeks.

 

At least no fewer than four Irigwe people have been waylaid and killed in the last week one which he said they include, Mr. Tana of Geh village was killed, Emmanuel Gado aged 33 an Irigwe youth and Resident of Gidan Ado village in Ganawuri Chiefdom was killed.

 

On Sunday 14th April at about 8 pm two Irigwe Youths Mr. Raphael Ezra and Daddy Riti was machete while returning home at a Village called Kangboro.

 

Chinge expressed worry over the resumption of killings of his people by unknown persons believed to be herders while embarking on their peaceful conduct.

 

“I  wish to use this medium to call on our people to be vigilant as our attackers seem to be changing tactics as their new way of killing now is to ambush our people “he explained.

 

We are equally calling on security agencies to redouble their efforts more so now that the raining season is fast approaching.

 

Chinge Dodo Justice President Irigwe Youth Movement lamented that the rate of killing and destruction of lives, properties had left the land more devastated and in confusion under the present regime.

 

Efforts to speak to the PPRO prove abortive as his number was not going through as the time of sending in this report.
