How PLASIEC Declared Loser Of Langtang North Local Council Election The Winner -Hon Joshua Laven

In the Plateau State Local Government Council Election Petition Trial Tribunal Holden at West of mines Jos between the petitioner, Hon Ubandoma Joshua Laven of the People’s Democratic Party and Kparnim Nanloh Amos, of the All Progressive Congress and the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission over the office of the chairmanship of Langtang North LGC has seen the Petitioner closed his defense, as the defendants have prepared to open their defence.

 

Our correspondent gathered that at the Plateau State Local Government Election Petition Tribunal sitting at West of Mines a total of 38 witnesses testified during the hearing.

 

Testifying as the 38th witness in his statement on oath and answering question under examination from his counsel, Harrison Uguala, the first petitioner, Joshua Laven Ubandoma told the tribunal that the 10th October 2018 Local Government Elections for Langtang North was declared inconclusive on 11/10/18 but was taken aback when he heard on air on the 16/10/18 where PLASIEC declared the results and announced Kwarnim Nanloh Amos as duly elected.

 

While tendering his letters of complaint to PLASIEC on the wrong declaration of results, the witness prayed the tribunal to do justice in his petition and do the needful having scored the highest votes cast during the election.

 

Answering questions under cross-examination by counsel to the first, second and third defendants, Zurfa Rimven, Eric Danboyi and Ledak Dafer in that order, Joshua Ubandoma while standing by his earlier submissions stated that due to the restriction of movement during the said election he could not go round all the 114 Polling Units but was aware that election was not conducted in Miam Polling Unit of Pajat Ward.

 

On further Cross-examination, the witness disclosed to the tribunal that he did not have a summary of the result sheet by PLASIEC but the collated results from polling units.

 

While calling on the tribunal to use its wisdom to intervene, the petitioners closed their case and the matter is adjourned to Thursday 18th April 2019 for the defendants to open their defense.
