Kidnappers Abduct 3 Pastors In Kaduna, Demands N100 million Ransom

The president of Tarayya Ekklesiyoyin Kristi A Nigeria( TEKAN), Reverend Dr Emmanuel N. Dziggau, Reverend Iliya Anto and Reverend Yakubu Dazrma were on Monday abducted by unknown gunmen in Kaduna.

This was made known at the TEKAN headquarters in Jos during a media briefing.

According to the General Secretary of the church, Moses Ebuga, who confirmed the abduction to journalists also said one of the abducted, Rev. Anto was released, but the remaining two were still in the custody of the abductors.

He added that through the phone of the released Anto, the kidnappers had asked for a ransom of about one hundred million Naira  before the other two Reverends would be released.

While expressing shock and pain of the sudden kidnapping of Christian clerics, the TEKAN Church also called on the federal government to do everything possible to rescue the abducted clergymen and bring the perpetrators to book, alleging that recently, the leadership of TEKAN had witnessed several attacks by unknown people.

Also at the briefing, the Youths National President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN), Engr. Daniel Kadzai condemned the ugly act, calling on all Christians in the country to dissociate the incident from the upcoming CAN election, adding that doing so might lead to division among the Christians.

The Youth president however called on all Christians in the country to engage in prayers and fasting for the release of the clergymen.
