JUSUN Resumes Work On Wednesday In Plateau

The Chairman, Judiciary   Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN, Plateau State Chapter, Comrade Philip Longji has said, they have suspended a two-month-old strike over financial autonomy with a call for efficiency and diligence at work.

 

Addressing the staff at the state high court yesterday, Longji told the striking workers that they’re here to address them on the suspension of two months strike they embarked upon.

He said with God on our side, we have been granted financial autonomy to be on our own without the state government interfering, we are going to have our financial freedom where salary would come directly from our headquarters.

Longji explained that we called for the suspension of this strike is the issue of personal cost when we came, my attention was focus on the tenth plate that was based on budget  0% the implications of it is that everybody will be taken home half salary, but as a union, we insisted that the personal cost will be 100% and we insist not to resume work, adding, with God on our side we reach an agreement so 100% has been given to personal cost with full salary will be payable.

 

He emphasized that speaking of running costs, the union protects the workers by ensuring the, we will not relent to make sure that the judiciary enjoys full salaries and the salary has been dropped into their account.

 

Longji disclosed that with the recent development they are going to be paying through table payment this month because of the absence of electronics on the ground.

 

However, he explains all table payments commenced today, Wednesday from zone to zone to ensure smooth conduct of the staff.

 

The Registrar of the State High Court, Mrs. Ladi AGyer Madaki said they are delighted to resume work to decongest the police cells, which had been overcrowded with criminals.
