The  Hon. Justice I. E. Ekwo.Federal High Court 6, Maitama, FCT Abuja has fixed for the 26th of February, 2022 for judgment in a case involving Justice Umar Danladi of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, challenging the jurisdiction of the Senate to investigate him .

The case of Danladi Umar who assaulted  Clement Sargwak at Banex plaza last year came up for hearing on Tuesday 8th February, when  all parties filed processes and adopted the same day.

After all the legal arguments, the Court adjourned the matter to the 26th day of April , 2023 for Judgment.  Barr.Timzing Ramnap who is one of the Lawyers representing Clement Sargwak at the Senate proceedings now has some reliefs as to how he is going to move on with his case before the Senate in the event the matter goes in favour of the Senate.

However, Justice Umar at the last sitting of the Senate last year, in his effort to escape the wrath of the Senate having brutally assaulted  Clement Sargwak at Banex plaza, ran to the High Court to challenge the jurisdiction of the Senate to investigate him.

All eyes and ears of Nigerians and the international community are keenly awaiting and watching for the outcome of this case.

The Senate adopted their processes and urged the court to dismiss his claims and allow NASS to investigate him as provided in Section 88 of the Constitution.

The other defence lawyer defending the AGF also urged the court to dismiss the suit.
