Jos South LG PDP Ward Congresses Turn Free For All Fight, As PDP Secretariat Are Accused To Have Doctored List
The rescheduled PDP ward congresses of Jos South Local Government Area today turned to a free for all fight at the PDP Plateau state Secretariat when some Delegates complained of some Abuja base Politicians doctoring the lists.
The Men and Officers of the Nigeria Police Force had no option than to contaminate the entire atmosphere with tear gas to scare supporters of Hon .Edward Pwajok who are protesting the replacement of their names with Sen. Jang candidates who won with a landslide victory.
Security operatives took over the PDP State secretariat in Jos following reported cases of violence over Local Government congress as frustrated supporters of Edward Pwajok hijacked the final result.
The LG Congresses which was conducted at the PDP state Secretariat in Jos Sunday amidst tight security saw Senator Jonah Jang Candidate, Hon. Dung Mwantep Tari emerged as the elected PDP chairman of Jos South Local Government after winning with a total of 62 votes defeating Hon. Dalyop Pam who is the Candidate of the member Representing Jos South/Jos East Constituency in the National Assembly Hon. Edward Pwajok who got 34 votes.
The atmosphere before the conduct of the election was seriously tensed as security had to battle to control the protesters who came from Giring and Zawan B ward whose delegates were excluded from the elections.
Former Senator Davou Zang who was alleged to have been bribed as a delegate and member of the former Governor Jang camp while speaking with Journalists after the elections said he was happy with the outcome of the elections.
Also Speaking member representing Jos South Constituency in the State Assembly Hon. Nyam Dareng said the peaceful conduct of the congress demonstrated that PDP is very strong the state.
It would be recalled that congresses was on Thursday postponed in Jos South Local government councils of the state as result of protests by aggrieved ward delegates whose names were removed from the original lists billed to feature at the council congresses to elect party new executives at the councils
The elected PDP Chairman Hon. Dung Tari promised to run an inclusive government where all aggrieved members will be accepted.
