The Jigawa state Hisbah command yesterday arrested 3 principal suspects who specializes in cheating the public during Shuwarin market day in Kiyawa local government area of Jigawa state, those arrested include Adamu Bello known, the said Bello uses charm to intimidate people and collect money from them
The Hisbah command said it has received series of complained from public that the suspect uses charm to intimidate public at every market day and sometimes use lies to hoodwink people’s mind with the intention of arresting their mind by narrating a false story to them.
It was gathered that at every market day the suspects make profits in excess of thousands from the public, a situation that made Hisba command to arrest the principal suspects Malam Adamu Muhammed Aliyu and one Usman Dan Yaro who are all from Katsina Dutsinma local government area of Katsina.
Speaking the suspects said that is it is a blatant lie that they used to charm or evil ways to intimidate people and collect money from the public; he explained that they only specialized in assisting people with illness to get well.
Adding that they have over thirty different species of local medicine that they use to cure disease and also deliver persons who have evils spirit problem as well as those who have marriage problem, he also stated that those who have lost their properties and who also have sexual problems are among the persons they take care of as well as those who lost their property and those who have sexual problems either woman or man.
Adamu confirmed that he has spent over thirty-two years in traditional herbal business and that he resides in Kiyawa local government area for many years and he has not been arrested by any of the security agencies especially the police or traditional rulers because all these agencies they have a cordial relationship with them.
“But unfortunately today the Hisba command has arrested us which is the first time, explaining further he said that exposing armed robbers are not his work but that he gives charms that the owners of property that will help them catch thieves.
The second suspect Malam Aliyu who is also from Katsina while speaking added that he was blessed with little knowledge of the Holy Quran to sell medicine to the public by reciting the book of Allah as Ruqqiyya to those who are having problems.
While parading the suspects Malam Saidu Musa the officer in charge of the market of the Jigawa Hisbah command who spoke to our reporter on behalf of the state commandant said the board has received series of complaints from the general public about all the wrong acts of the suspects during the market day in Shuwarin.
Saidu charged the general public to desist from attending to them in the market because they can’t cure any person but that they only cheat people as he assured that the command will soon take them to court for necessary action.
