Jigawa Govt Purchases Instructional Materials For Basic And Post Basic Literacy Schools

The Jigawa State government has said it has spent the sum of N4.8 million Naira for the purchase of instructional materials to 135 basic literacy schools and 80 Post- Basic Literacy Centers across the 27 local government areas of the State.

The Executive Secretary of the Agency Malam Abbas A Abbas disclosed this to our reporter In Dutse shortly after distribution of the material at the state secretariat as he explained that five basic literacy schools were established in each of the local government areas in the State.

Meanwhile, 3 post basic centers were also established in each of the local government areas of the state, Malam Abbas expressed his appreciation to the state government for releasing the funds to actualize the projects in all the literacy centers across the state.

He explained further that the material will improve the status of literacy in the state as he added that it will help the people of the state to be fully educated, Abbas urged the directors and coordinators of the schools to judiciously distribute the materials to the schools that are listed as beneficiaries.

He, at the same time, called on the beneficiaries of schools to make good use of the materials given to them by the Jigawa State government.

The materials given to the schools are learning and an instructional material which includes 2A Exercise book of 10,125 copies to each of the schools, 2B also 10,125 copies to each of the schools, 2D also 10,125 copies, while dusters for whole schools mansion which were 1,200 in numbers were distributed across the 27 local government areas.

He added  that 1230 cartons of chalks was distributed to school and all the five literacy while he said 3 post-literacy schools in each of the local government areas received 200 mats, while in the area of textbooks, 200 English textbooks h and 200 Mathematics textbooks and  200 Civic Textbooks and 200 Textbooks basic science were also distributed.
