 Calls For  Tasu’a And Ashoora Fastings I.E. 9th & 10th Muharram, 1438 Ah

Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) National Headquarters felicitates with the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria, and the world on the inception of the new Hijrah year 1438 A.H., following the declaration of Monday 3rd October, 2016, yesterday by the Sultanate Council, Sokoto, as the 1st day of Muharram 1438A.H., Alhamdulillah. We particularly wish the President-General, JNI, His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR, mni, and all his lieutenants across the Nation a prosperous Hijrah year.

As always, JNI uses this period to remind Nigerian Muslims to be God-fearing, remain steadfast and be law abiding at all times. Nigerian Muslims are urged to fast the 9th and 10th of Muharram, known as Tasu’a and ‘Ashoora fastings which the Prophet (SAW) strongly recommends us to fast them respectively, i.e (Tuesday, 11th and Wednesday, 12th October, 2016).

Hence, the Muslim Ummah is called upon to fast these days and to, as usual pray fervently for Allah’s intervention over all challenges bedeviling the nation. And to pray also for rapid development, peace and security in Nigeria. May Allah, the Most High make the New Year a source of abundant blessings and prosperity to us all, Amin. In the same vein, JNI urges all to continuously seek for Allah’s forgiveness, be God – conscious, peaceful, hardworking and steadfast. Indeed, Allah is Most Forgiving Most Merciful.

By and large, we use this avenue to again call on all and sundry to be forgiving, eschew rancour and bitterness, be just, sincere, responsible in all undertakings and should avoid anything capable of attracting Allah’s anger in the present circumstance we found ourselves, as with every hardship comes ease and relief. We equally call on the Muslim Ummah to continue promoting Islamic virtues in this trying and challenging time of the Nigerian nationhood.

Once more, we wish all a prosperous new Hijrah year full of Allah’s blessings.
