Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic Students Protest Acute Shortage Of Non-Teaching -Staff, Hostels

The students of Isa Mustapha Agwai   Polytechnic, Lafia in their multitude converged at the new hall of the Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic, Lafia carrying placards with different inscriptions “STUDENTS NEEDS MORE HOSTELS ACCOMMODATION.”

 

The SUG stage the peaceful protest when Governor Sule alongside the Director General of National Information Technology Development Agency declared open NITDA ICT Empowerment Training and Provision of FCT Tools for North-Central Women held in Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic, Lafia.

 

While other students were seen carrying placards with inscriptions “WE NEEDS MORE STAFF” and others are “HND STUDENTS WANT TO GO TO SERVICE”.

 

The President, Student Union Government, Comrade Godwin Ishaku expressed concerned over the exorbitant tuition fee charged by the institution.

 

“Ishaku explained that students of Higher National Diploma indigenes paid N24, 000 while non -indigenes pay N32, 000.

 

He appealed to Governor Sule to reduce tuition fees so as to ameliorate the trepidation faced by students.

 

He listed the inability of the management to submit list of graduates to go for one year mandatory service as a serious issue affecting enrollment.

 

The Governor of Nasarawa State appreciates NITDA for choosing Nasarawa to host the training.

 

He stated hat knowledge brings wealth,  he also added that the importance of ICT can never be over-emphasized.

 

Engr.Sule maintained that ICT checkmate fraud in government establishment.

 

The Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa lauded Governor Sule for partnering with NITDA which he said the capacity building by providing training and training using technology.

 

Pupils of primary school within the Polytechnic also joined the peace protest.
