The Plateau State chapter Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC , Hon Abubakar Dogara has called for calm amongst citizens of the state ahead of the governorship and state Assembly elections scheduled for Saturday the 11th of April, 2023 .
He stated this during an interview with our correspondent in Jos , Dogara appealed to the electorates to remain calm, especially those who felt that they’re not satisfied with the outcome of the exercise .
Hon Abubakar urged them to approach the election tribunal with their genuine complaints, adding they were at INEC headquarters to handle the Plateau Central Senatorial district which was shifted for a rerun.
He said with the assurance given by INEC that all elections results shall be uploaded to the INEC server, for all the aggrieved candidates to cross-check but if that didn’t tally with their own results originally, they can go to court and seek redress.
He said ,” to God be the Glory ,” election has taken place and the winner has emerged and there is nowhere in the world that election is free and fair ,they all have pockets of challenges attached ,we want to say that we really appreciated Nigerian for coming out enmasse to elect the leaders of their choice .
“At the end of the exercise the country remain peaceful, SDP as one of the strong political parties has issued a statement congratulating the President-elect and accepting the outcome of the exercise and the state Assembly and guber SDP is going into full participation across the wards and LGAs,” he said.
Abubakar Dogara exray the Nasarawa state that they’ve two member representatives because senator Akwashiki and Wadada were frustrated with the APC and people of the state reasoned with their plight to support them.
However, the APC maltreated them and that gave them the opportunity with all their supporters and people felt that what they APC have done was wrong and they decided to overwhelmingly vote for their candidates to win many seats .
We have made the SDP very strong with the strength to strength in Plateau state on the governorship candidates have been canvassing for votes for competence devoid of any sentiment since the period of electioneering campaign activities.
Abubakar said , we are calling on the Plateau people not to vote for politicians that are promoting religious or tribal agenda but people have the masses at heart.
