INEC To Commence Distribution Of 323,905 PVC’s In Nasarawa State-REC

The resident Electoral Commissioner in charge of Nasarawa state, Dr. Uthman Abdulrahman Ajigagba ahead of next month general election said the Independent National Electoral Commission would commence the distributions of 323,905 Permanent Voters Card to all registered Nigerians.

Dr. Abdulrahman stated this when the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Labaran Maku paid him a courtesy at the Commissions office along Kurikyo road, Lafia.

REC says the effort to decentralize the distribution of PVC’s was to ensure that all eligible voters vote in this year’s general election”.

“The Commission would start the distribution of 323,905 PVC’s on the 16/01/2019 which was one month precisely before the general election”.

Uthman closed that the country loses huge amount of taxpayers’ money in the production of PVC’s and should be allowed to wasteful venture.

Appealing to politicians in the state to educate their supporters in the need to collect their voter’s card.

He faulted politicians in the country for fueling political crisis during and after election, saying the Commission needed the total cooperation of critical politicians that would foster credible election.

Dr. Abdulrahman called on politicians in Nasarawa state to go beyond gathering meaningless crowd without PVC’s, which he described as a tool change government.

Urging them to accord topmost attention to the training of electorate on thump printing as well challenged politicians to avoid name calling and campaign of calumny.

He also tasked the main actors to shun the recruitment of Youth into thuggery and other social vices.

“Very soon we will invite politicians to come and sign peace accord, adding that the accord will give the Commission a clear direction of violence free election.

The Governorship candidate, Labaran Maku promised to offer himself to the Commission for any that would bring about free poll.

He identify the poor management of election as a major constraint of electoral umpire, he however maintained that the system needs improvement at all level.

Maku faulted politicians sharing money to clone PVC’s in the name of bringing succor to the citizenry as a new tactics to rig election.

“Our own case in Nasarawa state was that the incumbent administration carries out must of electoral damage at the command centre at the seat power”.

“The first mark of credibility on the electoral reform by the erstwhile government of Good luck Jonathan gave rise to the landslide victory of All Progressives Congress in 2015.

Maku appealed to his teeming supporters to shun politician thuggery and acrimony so as stay alive to enjoy the demand of democracy.
