INEC Presents Return Certificate To Gov Dabkwambo By Kalshingi H Jedidah

The newly Re- elected Governor of Gombe state Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo has along with elected officials into House of Representatives, Senate ,and State House of Assembly received return certificates by the Independent National Electoral Commission in Gombe.
Speaking at the occasion, INEC National Supervisory Commissioner Dr Nuhu Yakubu stated that, the 2015 general election was an indication of a remarkable development the INEC had achieved over the years.
According to him, the use of modern technology, the use of smart cards, and card readers has not only lifted the standard of the electoral process but a standard that must be maintained by the commission. Urging that, such standard should be adopted in conducting all election in every part of the country.
He however, called elected officers to work hard towards bringing dividend of democracy to the people who elected them, as so much is expected of them by the people.
Meanwhile, Gombe State INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Barr Kassim Gaidam who earlier described the occasion as important, said, the occasion was necessitated by section 75(1) of the electoral act, which provides that, return certificates should be presented to winners elections conducted by the commission.
After receiving the return certificate as re-elected governor of the state, Dankwambo promised to work efficiently towards ensuring that, the state moves forward, particularly excelling in export oriented agriculture of farm produce the state has been known for, and agro- allied industries. This according to him was to enable the state to fully take advantage of its location at the hub of the north- east sub region.
According to him, his new administration will also focus on its continuous effort of transforming its educational sector to excellent standards that would attract academic tourists from other parts of the country and beyond. Calling on all the people irrespective of political parties to join hands and focus on developing the state.
“In that regard, I want all our supporters, in the PDP as well as erstwhile opponents in the APC and other parties to close ranks and focus on the task to develop Gombe State.”
Governor Dankwambro who described his victory as an act of God, also thanked the commission for conducting credible elections, also the people for the massive support, and for the peaceful conduct of the elections.

Other elected officials who were presented with the return certificate include deputy governor, 3 elected senators, 6 members of 6 Federal Constituencies, and 24 elected members of State House of Assembly.
