COPDEM, GPOSN And Partner Groups To Hold Coordinated Rallies In Four States On September 26
The Coalition for the Protection of Democracy (COPDEM), in collaboration with the Global Peter Obi Support Network (GPOSN) and other participating support groups, announces the organisation of coordinated rallies across four states of the federation on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
The rallies will take place in Kogi, Benue, Osun and Niger States as part of ongoing grassroots political mobilisation and public expressions of support for the Peter Obi–Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso ticket of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2027 Presidential Election.
The events are expected to bring together supporters, volunteers, civil society participants and other citizens who wish to publicly identify with the Obi–Kwankwaso ticket and the political movement surrounding the 2027 election.
The coordinated rallies are intended to provide a peaceful and democratic platform for citizens to express their political preferences, engage with one another and strengthen grassroots participation in Nigeria’s electoral process.
COPDEM further emphasises the importance of peaceful conduct, respect for the rights of other citizens and adherence to applicable laws and regulations throughout the activities.
STATES PARTICIPATING ON SEPTEMBER 26: Kogi State, Benue State, Osun State and Niger State
COPDEM also announces that a separate rallies involving participating support groups is scheduled to take place in Akwa Ibom State and more states on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
Further information concerning the specific venues, meeting points, times and coordinators for the respective state rallies will be communicated by the organising committees in the various states. COPDEM calls on all participating members and groups to conduct themselves peacefully and responsibly and to ensure that the activities reflect the democratic principles of civic participation, tolerance and respect for the rule of law.
