The Imo State Orientation Agency, ISOA,under the headship of the Director General, Hon.Chief Martin Opara,was within the week hosted all the President Generals,PG’s, of all the Town Unions in Imo State.
It could be recalled that the Town Union Govt.in the State was longed dissolved by the past administration of Rescue Mission of Sen.Rochas Okorocha.
Speaking at the event,the DG of the Agency, Chief Martin Opara, said that the programme is in line with the Rebuild Mission led govt.of the Imo State Government,Chief Emeka Ihedioh,to collaborate and partner with the President Generals of all Town Union Govt. in the state, so as to bring the presence of government into various community as grassroot.
According to him, the essence of the gathering was to look at the affairs of the town union while stressing that the past government disorganised the traditional institutions and disbanded the Town Union administration of the communities replacing it with the CGC government .
Opara, further charged them (the PG’s) to return home in a high spirits saying that this government wll work closely with them and all the future of community values, service and progress will be restored.
In his appreciation,the DG of Imo State Orientation Agency, Chief Opara,commended the Governor of Imo State,Chief Emeka Ihedioha, for all his commitments to the rebuilding of all Imo infrastructures and institutions which has actually made the job of the angency easy on the campaign against crimes.
“When the people are happy, crime rate will drastically reduce and workers would be motivated, we also thank the President Generals of Imo Communities for all their sacrifice for a peaceful and progressive grassroots environment, without the grassroot leaders, the job of governance will be burdensome, we appreciates you all for coming and look forward to a sustaining partnership quality engagement in the rebuild Imo project”
In his contribution,the National President Association of Imo State Town Union, Chief Emeka Diwe, affirmed that the Imo needs very strong re-orientation in the Town Union administration for effective representation and it’s independent running, he advice proper and prudent people of good character with developmental mindset should be at helms of affairs of the communities leadership in the state.
Adding his voice, was the Secretary General of the Union, Chief Monday Ikeokwu,in his words,ceased the opportunity to inform and plead with the government to re-oreint the natural rulers.
