Imo Elders Advisory Council Holds 2019 Guber Summit Endorses Ohakim As Okorocha’s Successor

As the 2019 governorship polls in Imo State draws very closer,come March 9th 2019,the leadership of “The Imo State Elders Advisory Council”,was on Thursday,Feb.28th 2019,held what they described as “2019 Governorship Summit”.
The summit which took place at the Hall of Hope,Cathedral of the Transfiguration of Our Lord,CATOL,Owerri,attracted so many dignitaries from across the state.
The official endorsement of the Imo Accord Party Guber Candidate,Chief Dr.Ikedi Godson Ohakim as Governor Rochas Okorocha’s successor in 2019 ,was ably signed by the Chairman of Imo State Elders Advisory Council,Chief Amb.Ralph Obioha,disclosed that that the council endorsed Ohakim because of his wealth of leadership experience,maturing and integrity,as the only candidates amongst all contesting to become Governor.
Chief Obioha therefore in his opening remark expressed satisfaction with the large turnout of people who came in solidarity.
He said “the essence of the summit is in conjunction towards the forthcoming of the 2019 Imo Guber election. The summit is for the future of the state. We must vote for the most credible person as Governor,a man who has the interest of reforming the Local Govt.Council.
He recalled that out of the seven (7) guber candidates invited by the leadership of the council,only Chief Ohakim got 34 votes as the highest number of votes,whereas Emeka Ihedioha,of PDP got 4 votes,Hope Uzodinma,of APC got 3 votes,and Okey,Ezeh,of SDP got zero.
The Council Chairman said ” Allowing the Imo State Governor’s son-inlaw,Hon.Uche Nwosu,to become Governor is a huge crime and rape against service to humanity.
He warned Imo people not to venture into voting for any other person outside Ohakim.
He described the Accord Party Guber Candidate as the most credible man standing out of corruption and wealth accumulation.
In a communique signed and released to newsmen,the council continued with in-depth considerations of the presentations from the candidates which were open-minded and devoid of any bias or prejudice on the following principle measures:”Prompt Local Govt.Elections,Autonomy of the Local Govt.Areas,Peaceful Elections and security of lives and properties,restoration of Imo Charter of Equity,Enthronement of good governance in Imo State.
In his words,Chief Ikedi Ohakim,extolled the leadership of the Elders Council for selecting him for guber endorsement and promised not to disappoint Imolites,when elected as Imo Governor,come March 9th 2019.
The immediate past Imo Governor,Chief Ohakim said his government after his swearing-in ceremony on May 29th 2019 will repair Imo State.
Dr.Ohakim assured that his administration would ensure that the high rate of mortality rate in the state is reduced.
“I have a God of second chance,our God is the God of second chance. Imo people should try me again. They took a very wrong direction,misses the road.Now is their time to return to the right way. I will take Imo to the next level. I am not a greedy man. I have defected greed over 30 years ago. I have respect for elders and I also have respect for all those contesting to be Governor. Imo is technically dead but required an experienced person like Ohakim.
I have come to fix,repair and recover the state for good”,Dr.Ohakim submitted.
