On Thursday 9th May 2019,all the Executive Chairmen of the 27 LGAs were suspended for alleged gross misconduct by the leadership of the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly,IMHA,Rt.Hon.Acho Ihim.
The elected LGA vice Chairmen were charged and urged to superintend over their various LGAs untill further notice.
The DAGS and other staffers are to report to the Vice Chairmen forthwith, according to the Speaker of the State House.
It was reliably gathered that the said 27 LGA Council Chairmen refused to appear initially to the House earlier but the legislative arm of government in Imo State through the Speaker, Rt.Hon.Ihim,frowned bitterly on their inability to honour the invitation and therefore insisted that they be suspended until further notice.
However,the 27 affected Council Chairmen according to the lawmakers does not have any single respect to the legislators in the state,and as such they must face their suspension.
