I’ll Reduce This Incessant Attacks, Killings To Its Barest Minimum-Major General Okonkwo Pledges

The Newly deployed Special Task Force ,Commandant of Operation Safe Heaven ,Major General ,Chukwu Emeka Okonkwo has disclosed his readiness to focus more on curtailing the insecurity affecting Kaduna ,Bauchi and Plateau states especially putting an end to the lingering crisis in between the Irigwe natives and the herders in  Bass a Local Government Area of Plateau state.

Major General Okonkwo made this disclosure at the STF headquarters while interacting with media chief executive in plateau state.

He promised building synergy with media practitioners on objective reportage that can promote peaceful coexistence between the three states under his command.

According to him, as he took the mantle of leadership of the STF,  his main plan is to ensure that there is synergy between the Nigeria Army,other security outfits including all the stakeholders to stop  wild spread of attacks and killings going on .

Major General Chukwu Emeka Okonkwo was the adviser to Lt General Tukur Buratai replaced Major General Augustine Agundu  as the commandant .

He stressed that the familiarization with media practitioners is to seek for partnership and overwhelming support for him to discharge his function as a military officer that is train maintain law and order in the society.

“We are not there yet but we promise to improve on it ,you notice that there is change in military strategy on information  which everything come from the headquarters ” he explains.

He charged journalists to be objective and not to report issues that can trigger conflict, Plataea state used to be the most peaceful state in Nigeria in the 80s but I want us to return the state back to her glory.

Okonkwo pleaded with media practitioners to report accurately not to raise up bitterness or rancour by feeling free to inquire for further clarification if in doubt.

He pledged to journalists that, all his work here is to restore peace because all his operation would be  80% field operations.
