The Imo State Gov. Elect,Rt.Hon.Emeka Nkemakolam Ihedioha,has expressively appreciated all the people of the state especially the members of the PDP for voting into power as Governor Rochas Okorocha’s successor in the just concluded Imo 2019 Governorship election exercise that brought him as the Imo-Gov.Elect by the INEC on last Monday,March 11th 2019.
Ihedioha in his maiden press briefing with Imo journalists, said ” my victory was a very resounding victory for the good people of the state. I than all those who contributed in one way or the other through prayers,voluntary service and hard work of staying in the queue and voting. My victory belongs to the ordinary men and women in Imo-the traders,artisans,clergy,labourers,farmers,teachers,students,youths and women of all ages. I am humbled by your trust in my leadership. For me the mandate which you have bestowed on me is sacred and I shall do all in my capacity to uphold that thrust. From your trust,we owe you (Imolites) unalloyed service”.
Chief Ihedioha however described his victory as epochal as its outcome is momentous. “It is a fervant protest against impunity and the celebrations in all the nooks and crannies of Imo State is a testimony to your belief in the rightness and wisdom of our vision for Imolites and a new path to progress which we shared with you during the last campaigns”,he recalled.
“We shall run an open,transparent and accountable government with due process as its hallmark. I believe strongly that those in positions of authority must render account of their stewardship to the people. The era of brazeness in Imo State in gone”,Ihedioha disclosed.
The Imo-Gov.Elect however promised Imo people both those who voted for him and those who did not of all-inclusive govt.and not a govt.of exclusion.
Chief Ihedioha further more promised to carry everybody along in his govt.which he reiterated shall run an all inclusive govt.
He described himself as a gentle man who believes in due process,rule of law and good governance,even as he noted that he is not a greedy man.
“It may interest you to know that I do not grab land or wealth acquisition”,Ihedioha maintained.
